Free SNW browsing for Digicel’s prepaid customers
Speaking with this news site today December 16, 2014, Digicel’s Marketing and Public Relations Executive Jasmine A. Perez said that the new prepaid plans give the prepaid customer who signs up free social media.
“Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, you know...those things that we are on all day that use up most of our data, we have decided to give them for free,” she said.
“So even if you would have browsed YouTube and finished your data you will still be able to use Facebook, Twitter and Instagram,” she said.
According to the company in a press release, liking, sharing, posting or tweeting is now completely free of charge for prepaid customers who sign up.
“In addition, new plans will roll over unused data for one month, giving customers even more value for their money by allowing them enough time to use all of the data within their plans,” said the release.
It said that Digicel's prepaid customers will now be able to choose from a one or seven day plan designed to suit the needs of today's data users. “All plans have generous data allowances and unlimited free access to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for the duration of the plan. Plans start from as low as $2 for a one day plan and users are able to surf, stream and share a lot more on [Digicel’s] data network,” the release said.
CEO of Digicel BVI, Conor Looney said, “We know how much our customers enjoy using social media to communicate, it's the reason we built the BVI's most reliable data network. With the majority of handsets on our network now being smartphones, we wanted to deliver new plans that echo the needs of our customers. By giving free access to Facebook, Instagram and Twitter it frees up our customers' data plans for other purposes."
