ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Hard work and thorough preparation paid off for Francis Lettsome Primary School ‘Wildcats’ as they impressed the judges to be crowned Sports Vision Academy (SVA) 2024 Cheerleading Champions.

The Cheerleading Championships were held at Multi-Purpose Sports Complex yesterday, Saturday, July 6, 2024.

Nipping on their Wildcats heels; however, were Alexandring Maduro Primary Eagles, who placed second with just one point behind.

Third was Ebenezer Thomas Primary School while Pelican Gate Primary School finished fourth.

Basketball champions

Meanwhile, Celtics emerged champions of the 9-12 Division Basketball League.

Warriors were second and Nuggets third.

Kyle Gumbs Jr was named MVP.

In the 13-15 Division, Suns lifted the championship, with Wolves taking second and Bucks third.

Zion Phillips was the Division’s  MVP.

Other winners

Meanwhile, Shakhory Penn captured top honours in the 3-Point Shootout.

The Rookie of the Year was Kyle Gumbs Jr, while the Most Improved Player was Tiondre Martin.

The Parent of the Year accolade was shared between Samantha Penn and Kay Maduro-Dunkley.

    That school that placed first outshone the second place school snd you saying they won by one point!! They were the clear winner to me

    I can't believe them place Ebenezer and not pelican gate. This is why i don't bother with these shows anymore, they always robbing
