Community Initiative

They noted that with help from David and Katherine Dietrich, Tony Martin, Michael Richardson, The Motivational Edge, Monza and many others, the School of Music is ready for its relaunch.
“A Brand new building, course materials, instruments and recording equipment are all in place and ready for school to Begin,” the release said.
Citing the critical part music plays in the heritage and culture of the VI, the school will help youths to gain an appreciation for music.
Importance of Culture
“While many may worry that the culture of the Virgin Islands and particularly Festival time is being lost to modern customs and music, Foxy offers the School of Music as a great example of a grassroots effort to instil pride and love of culture in our children.”
The opening ceremony of the School of Music is scheduled for Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at the Foxy’s Bar compound in Jost van Dyke.
