Foxy’s Music Fest set for May 18th, 2019
The event is a fundraiser for Foxy’s School of Music, which provides free music instruction to the children of Jost. Musicians and teachers are hosted through the year to provide free and expert instruction to these kids in the fields of music, dance and performance. A full range of musical instruments are available, and instruction is in the brand new building here in Great Harbour.
According to a release on the initiative, performing at the event will be Foxy’s ‘Funky Friends’ who are the band with which he recorded his most recent album.
The band is made up of some of the best musicians in the Atlanta area, that have played with the Allman Bros Band, the Tedeschi Trucks Band, Carlos Santana, Dave Mathews and many others. Also appearing will be some local artists, and hopefully the relaunch of Jost van Dyke's own band!
In the lead-up to the Music Fest, Foxy will be travelling to St. Croix to kick off the silent auction of a recent painting at the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts in Frederiksted.
Foxy will also perform in Frederiksted on the same evening as Ronnie Russell as part of the Jazz at the Museum Series.
The painting itself will be present at this event, and the silent auction will start at that time, culminating at the MusicFest at Foxy’s on May 18th, 2019.
All Proceeds from the auction will benefit the School of Music. For more information about the MusicFest, or the performance in St Croix and the painting, please call 284 442 3074.
