Fly BVI small plane suffers tyre blowout
According to our source the incident occurred at approximately 4:00 pm today involving the company's N6884A Piper Aztec.
It could not have been confirmed if there were persons other than the pilot on the aircraft at the time and several calls to the BVI Airport Authority, the Airport's Fire and Rescue Services and Fly BVI went unanswered.
It is becoming an increasing concern about the prevalence of small aircraft suffering blowouts at airports across the Territory.
As recent as June 29, 2014 another Piper Aztec had suffered a blown tyre at the airport on Beef Island. That aircraft belonged to Island Bird.
