CANE GARDEN BAY, Tortola, VI- When it was reported in the media and social network that a generator for an AT&T site was stolen in the US Virgin Islands (USVI) following Hurricane Maria, there was much commentary joking about the act while some, even in the Virgin Islands (VI), fumed at the crime as they were unable to make calls to the United States.

However, a similar offence was carried out in the Virgin Islands.

Virgin Islands News Online can confirm that a generator that powered a tower belonging to Flow was stolen in the Windy Hill area.

“We had a generator stolen from our Windy Hill site and it was located in Cane Garden Bay. We went and recovered that generator yesterday (September 28, 2017),” a senior source at Flow related to this news site.

It is unclear whether anyone has been arrested or charged.

Meanwhile, the AT&T generator stolen in the USVI was subsequently recovered by the FBI.

That is far from the point. Should not have been stolen in the first place.

Sad. Guess there's need for more patrol and Police presence in some areas. All I'm begging is that the Governor would not lift the curfew totally because it won't be a very nice ending.

These criminals (who stole said generator) have been a nuisance to society forever and they always get away with it. They are above every law. Don't bother looking for justice here. Lime just keep a better eye on your things next time.
