First District businesses give back to community

The group that is fondly called TEMPO, distributed 30 bikes to children present along with a bag with educational tools for the upcoming school term to all youth in attendance at Jerry's Car Rental in West End, Tortola on December 26, 2016.
In addition, the top male honour roll student was presented with a pocket bike.
First District Representative, Hon. Andrew A. Fahie who was present at the event and gave words of encouragement to the large gathering of primarily youth, congratulated the businesses and individuals for their profound initiative of giving back to the community.
“They set a good tempo by encouraging the youths of the area to be positive, focus on their education and do their best at all times,” Hon. Fahie stated, “This initiative, once again, proved that together, as a community and as a people, we will always achieve more. This is true community spirit.”
He also took the opportunity to wish everyone a God-filled holiday season and a prosperous 2017.
The gift distribution was not all, TEMPO also provided food and music and the community had the opportunity to mix and mingle for the holiday as one.
Many individuals make up TEMPO with the three main businesses being Jerry's Car & Jeep Rental, Kelly's Tire Shop & Transportation Services and Tattoo's Trucking, Heavy Equipment and Water Delivery Services.

But I am wondering why a boy is singled out for a high honor and not a boy and a girl?
Girls need support and recognition too. We need more in government to keep it sane.
