"Construction of manholes, interceptor drains, piping, and drainage systems."

I could be wrong, but I didnt see any of that done on the works completed so far. Once proper drainage is in place it would reduce a lot of the runoffs from people's private property, thus preserving the integrity of the road.

What is wrong with these people. Cement doesn't create pot holes, Asphalt does. when will we get it right? Stop layering. Work in sections, dig up this asphalt and build proper roads like the rest of the world and call it George..people build bridges over water and we can't get a 24 sq mile strip for less than billions. God help us.

These roads are despicable and so dangerous cutting our tires up and dropping down in holes so deep they break our undercarriage!!! They filled in f/o the police station which was a danger to everyone.

the work started. However they can still do a lot better you dig up one side and leave it so rough, no warning lights and you not working in the night. You start so late tourist season is upon us proper markers are needed for these roads along with proper lighting

Road construction is expensive, so it is important that the work put in place (WIP) meets or closely approach the designed life cycles. This can be achieved through good road network design, design review, construction, inspection, programmatic maintenance, and repair. The pavement being put in place is rigid pavement/concrete. Concrete is rigid pavement but needs a stable subgrade. Concrete v. Asphalt/Flexible pavement. Which is better?

Initially, the cost of asphalt is lower, require more maintenance, provides a smoother surface, quieter, maintenance and repair are easier to make, has a shorter lifecycle, etc. Concrete is more expensive, requires less maintenance, noisier, failed sections are harder to repair, last longer, construction and repair takes longer before it can be driven on, etc.

Maximum effort should be exerted to limit run-on, on the pavement, reducing ponding on the road, etc. Ponding can be reduced by proper cross slope, and properly constructed and functioning road side ditches. Road side ditches must be designed and constructed to intercept flow from the upper side (hill) and convey it to drain appurtenances (pipes, manholes, catch basins, etc) for discharge.
