‘I apologise to the people of the First District’- Hon Penn on landfill fires
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- After a handful of residents of the First District decided to turn up at the House of Assembly (HoA) this morning, April 17, 2023, to protest the frequent open burning at Pockwood Pond, Minister for Health and Social Development Hon Marlon A. Penn (R8) responded with an apology and a promise to resolve the issues promptly.

POCKWOOD POND, Tortola, VI – Following statements from Premier and Minister of Finance, Hon Andrew A. Fahie (R1) that the garbage and fire woes at the Pockwood pond facility in the Virgin Islands (VI) will soon be over, Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon Carvin Malone (AL), has indicated that the facility is now up and running at its optimum.

Fahie had to say about progress and plans in his constituency were no doubt eager to hear when they would be lifted from their discomfort arising from the incinerator at Pockwood Pond being down for more than a year.
