Premier Smith; No to independence!
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - In a blunt but straight forward answer to a question posed today, Monday 3rd, September 2012 by First District Representative Honourable Andrew A. Fahie, the Virgin Islands Premier Dr. the Hounourable D. Orlando Smith said “No!” when asked whether government is seeking or would be seeking independence.
Minutes should be removed as House was in prorogue - Hon. Christopher
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Second District Representative, Hon. J Alvin Christopher, in addressing the matter of a previous sitting in the House of Assembly earlier today September 3, 2012, stated that the sitting of the House of Assembly that occurred on July 26, 2012 was illegal; he added that the House was supposed to be in prorogue and the minutes should go on record as if they never happened.

Report: $4.6 mil for proposed DDM Facility
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- According to a report submitted to Cabinet, a proposal for a new facility to accommodate the works of the Department of Disaster Management (DDM), divided into two phases, is estimated to cost over $4.6 million.
