32 new COVID-19 cases reported in USVI Tuesday

FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- Thirty-two new COVID-19 cases were reported by the [US] Virgin Islands Department of Health on Tuesday night, August 18, 2020, two days after Governor Albert A. Bryan Jr implemented the Stay-at-Home order that calls for more stringent guidelines, including the closure of non-essential businesses and halting of lodging reservations for leisure guests, among other measures.
Cabinet approves Phase 2 of Restricted Border Re-opening Plan
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Cabinet of the Virgin Islands has approved Phase 2 of the Restricted Border Re-opening Plan to take effect from September 1, 2020, according to a press release from Government today, August 18, 2020.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- As persons continue to voice their opinion on the recent decision by Government to put a hold on work permit and work permit exemption holders returning the Virgin Islands, Premier and Minister of Finance, Honourable Premier Andrew A. Fahie (R1) said a large percent of such persons trapped outside the Territory due to the existing ban was not willing to pay for the two-week quarantine.
Americans warned against travel to USVI

FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a warning to Americans not to travel to the US Virgin Islands if they don't have to, with the CDC pointing to a high risk of the coronavirus in the territory and limited medical resources for those who contract the disease.
