ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Approximately 40 persons, including a number of children, gave up sleeping in late at the weekend to support the Sandy Lane Centre’s Walk to bring awareness to substance abuse and mental health in the Virgin Islands.

Reduced nuisance complaints in 2011- Report
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Some 13 less nuisance complaints were received by the Environmental Health Division in 2011 compared to 2010, however, this did not prevent an increase in the complaints related to liquid waste and excreta disposal.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The BVI Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) today September 21, 2012 held a joint press conference in conjunction with the Lions Club of Tortola at the Peebles Hospital to present pieces of medical equipment to the institution.
Hospital project soldiers on!
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Minister for Health and Social Development, Hon. Ronnie W. Skelton informed the House of Assembly that 14 years have elapsed and over $100m was spent on the Hospital project from various sources of funding. Yet there was no deadline date given for completion of the project.

REPORT: System fails to train nationals for jobs in Health Division
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- With regard to a staffing problem faced by the Environmental Health Division within the Virgin Islands, the division arrived at the conclusion that the system had failed to train Virgin Islanders for jobs in the health sector.
