ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Guyanese accused Oswin Barker was yesterday November 20, 2012 found not guilty on the charge of rape in the High Court. The verdict was confirmed by attorney Stephen Daniels and his client Mr Barker. His trial began on November 12, 2012.

Put down your guns! RVIPF announces ‘firearm amnesty’
EAST END/LONG LOOK Tortola, VI – The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has announced a one-month ‘firearm amnesty’. The announcement was made last evening November 19, 2012 in an effort to curb what might be seen by many as an escalating crime rate in the Territory.
Prison Officers took a total 897 sick leave days in 2011- Report
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- A total of eight hundred and ninety seven (897) sick leave days were taken by prison officers of Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP) in Balsum Ghut during 2011, which has been suggested was mostly as a result of staff disgruntlement.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Roro Eduorne and Renold Plasimond, the men who jurors returned a unanimous guilty verdict on in the High Court on November 5, 2012 on all counts of manslaughter and smuggling of migrants were today sentenced to 10 years and 6 years total jail time respectively by Justice Albert Redhead.
