USVI will be among last jurisdictions to lift mask mandate- Gov Bryan

FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- While a growing list of states have adjusted their mask mandates to reflect the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's decision to ease restrictions for vaccinated people, Governor Albert A. Bryan Jr said Monday, May 17, 2021, that not only will the US Virgin Islands' mask mandate remain in place, the territory will be among the last jurisdictions to lift its current No Mask, No Service policy.

USVI bill seeks to tax items purchased on Internet

FREDERIKSTED, St Croix, USVI- A bill sponsored by Senator Novelle E. Francis seeks to tax Virgin Islanders for items they purchase through the internet, including on platforms such as Amazon, Target, Walmart and other e-commerce businesses. Calls and texts placed to Mr Francis on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, for comment were not returned.

CDC issues Order halting rent evictions for States & Territories

ATLANTA, Georgia, USA- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, issued a sweeping order which halts through December 31, 2020, millions of residential renters from being evicted, a move the CDC says is aimed at combating the novel coronavirus. The expansive action covers all of the US's 43 million renters who fall in the purview of the order.

32 new COVID-19 cases reported in USVI Tuesday

Bryan Jr implemented the Stay-at-Home order that calls for more stringent guidelines, including the closure of non-essential businesses and halting of lodging reservations for leisure guests, among other measures.
