Acting AG rules Deputy Speaker can preside over motion to exempt Speaker
DUFF’S BOTTOM, Tortola, VI- Acting Attorney General in the Virgin Islands (VI) House of Assembly (HoA), Ms Jo-Ann Williams-Roberts has ruled that Deputy Speaker Neville A. Smith (AL) can preside over the motion to exempt House Speaker Hon Julian Willock from paying legal fees in the discontinued case against the three Commission of Inquiry (CoI) lawyers working in the territory without being called to the local Bar.
VI taxpayers may be footing Governor’s legal fees- Premier

Fahie (R1) has indicated that the taxpayers of the Virgin Islands are likely to be footing the bill for the Governor’s legal representation in the BVI Commission of Inquiry, in his capacity as Governor and not in his personal capacity.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Even though the Speaker of the Virgin Islands had legitimate reasons to challenge the three attorney generals working in the Virgin Islands for the United Kingdom-sponsored Commission of Inquiry (CoI) and was seen as the Virgin Islands standing up for itself and making the statement that no one is above the law, some members of the public are having none of it.
