ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – A broken pipe at the BVI Electricity Corporation’s Pockwood Pond plant is reportedly the cause of island-wide disruptions to power on May 21, 2013 across the Virgin Islands.

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - Power was restored to all affected areas, homes and businesses leading up to the 9 P.M. hour on February 11, 2013 after communities from Prospect Reef to McNamara in Road Town were left without electricity following an accident that occurred in the Fisher Estate area.
Power outage forces early closure of certain Main Street businesses
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Certain businesses on Main Street were forced to “lock shop” earlier than usual on October 4, 2012 due to yet another period of power outage in the area.
UPDATE: Power restored after RT residents & businesses endure lengthy power outage
ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – Virgin Islands News Online has now been informed by Acting Transmissions & Distribution Engineer of the BVI Electricity Corporation, Symorne Penn, that power has been restored to the area around 6:00pm this evening, August 18, 2012. She added that the Corporation is very sorry for any inconvenience that may have been caused during the power outage.
