Female SVG native charged following high-powered assault rifles seizure
Officers of the Special Investigations Team of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) had seized the two prohibited, high-powered assault rifles following a search of a residence in Harrigan Estate.
In addition to the firearms, officers had also confiscated a quantity of ammunition and a large amount of cash as a result of a proactive operation.
Charges
Police in a press release today, November 22, 2022, said Marcia Jennings, 41, a native of St Vincent residing in Harrigan Estate, was formally charged with unlawful possession of a prohibited firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, proceeds of criminal conduct, and possession of a controlled drug.
Jennings was granted bail in the sum of $20,000 for her appearance in the Magistrate’s Court on January 19, 2023.
CoP appeals for public’s help
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police Mark Collins is making an appeal again for persons to come forward and share any information that could stem the tide of firearms that are entering the Territory.
Persons with information can contact the Intelligence Unit directly at 368-9339.
“We can only win this battle if we work together. Our safety and our way of life depends on it,” Collins said.

Only in the BVI Law Enforcement can't ask the public for help if some one has information that can help with tbeir investigation. All over the world Law Enforcement asks the public's help to solve crime. You &*(@ idiots will alwsys end up behind, because of your bavkward way of thinking.
We have many men behind bars awaiting trial for less powerful guns and crimes, some are first timers too, however the Magistrates still refuse bail, some received bail after appealing to the High Court but the conditions are no where to what this woman received.
Further is the Magistrates and police in bed with each other on this case? Is it because she is a woman? Well that in itself is prejudice against men, who are charged with similar offences.
Something seems amiss in this case and only time will time. Let's see what happens at trial.
the police know who the guns are for and that why she got bail the fact that in may their search that same area and never found no gun and now in November you find them hmmmm.
everyone always quick to talk.
first off the house she was found into is her man own who is lock up at this time.
funny thing is this house was search before in may how the police didnt find the guns then.
second when a search is done who ever lives in the house is getting lock up even if you knew or didnt knew about the gun. remember the O'Neal case mother daughter boyfriend and son got lock up and son took the fall.
as I said we always quick to jump up and start talk this and that she this her age and always where you come from.
someone did had to make a drop on that house and knew where the guns where.
Question to Collins how did you do a search in may and not see or found those guns but got a call or tip and now found them since the other baby mother is living their hmmm sound like a set up.
I don't even trust government and police, because I dealt with them before. They hear what they want and ignore what they want.
