ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Our news centre has been informed by senior sources at D. Orlando Smith Hospital that a female patient died this morning, July 13, 2021.
The now-deceased woman was allegedly diagnosed with COVID-19 and had been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a ventilator due to breathing challenges.
While our news centre has the name of the deceased, who was a public sector employee, we will not release it until we are satisfied that all immediate family members and close friends have been notified.
Our newsroom offers our condolences to the family of the deceased and ask that the community lift up the family in prayer.

I’ll tell you, ignorant early man who understood nothing of what went on around them so thought it must be a big man in the sky.
At the end of the day most persons with COMMON SENSE take proactive or reactive decisions in everything that affects them. Sometimes you have to mix God with other resources. God gave us brains to use. If you touch a hot pot are you going to wait on God to tell you let it go from burning or let it go?
Sense people sense.....this mentality is why we are in the situation we are in now.
I think looking at it from your view of self actualization is correct to some point. While you have arrived at your point of conclusion no one can change your thought. What I would have like to see is an explanation of this statement "Please don't be complacent and believe that God will protect you. The reality is that life doesn't work like that"
When you are looking at it from a spiritual point of view the focus is always to find out why God allow it to happen. For probation of life comes to all of us at a certain time, faith and prayer is bound on it own. Faith is stated what substance a person behold at the moment of trial should be bound by a life of prayer. The bible stated that ask and it should be given unto you, but to what point , as some as asked and did not received, if the faith dwindle while asking does the request not made known? We do not know everything about God and perhaps would only find out if we should meet him. Await your explaination.

Opening the borders is not the reason we have this surge. It's people being ignorant and irresponsible not adhering to the health protocols. Even while people are now succumbing to the Covid19 virus, there are still those who think that it's a hoax and is not committing to taking the vaccine. There are places that
never closed down but handled the pandemic responsibly. That's what need to happen in BVI. People need to behave responsibly and like they have common sense.
The brother has been through enough trauma, first from fighting to recover from the effects of the virus and then to losing his relatives; he is a human being and entitled to have his period to mourn the death of his relatives, just as anyone (vaccinated or unvaccinated) would be. He is NOT a convenient tool to be used at this time to further the vaccination effort; if he feels inclined to do so later when he is ready, then that is his choice, not a social obligation.
Please, let's have compassion and remember the human in all of this.
BVI, this is a very serious virus with dire consequences if you don’t follow protocol. What makes this virus so deadly, is the fact that you never know which strain you will get. You may be infected with a lesser strain and have no symptoms or mild symptoms. You may be infected with a deadlier strain of this infection and death is possible. I hope some of you with you absurd conspiracy theories wise up before it’s too late.
Please, lst us fight agaist this killer decease with the armors of knowledge, faith, and wisdoms, not with random talking, unproving opinions, and hopeless negligence. For those of us that truly believe that there is a God , that truly has our best intrest at heart, let us cnntinue to ask for His guidiance, help. There are praying time, not playing times. Not to discount proactive and reactive actions, as needed. Ne remimded of this true saying: Together we stand, devided we fall. Let stand together, as must as we posible can, but without help, we will continue falling. Let us agree stand, making some needful ajustment of our misguided attitide. The covid-d-19 virus is not a mythical decease, as many of still supposed. It's a real killer decease.

Turks and Caicos does not require testing or quarantine however a pre arrival PCR not antigen test is still a requirement. Note that to be exempted from testing your vaccines must have been done in the Turks:

Testing Requirement Exemption for Some Vaccinated Residents
Some fully-vaccinated residents (not tourists) will not be required to take and upload the COVID-19 test to the TCI Assured portal. All persons, including fully-vaccinated persons, must still obtain the TCI Assured travel authorization.
To benefit from this exemption on testing, a resident must:
Have taken the COVID-19 vaccine in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Have taken both required doses of the vaccine.
Have taken the second dose at least two weeks prior to travel.
Be on the Government's register of COVID-19 vaccinated persons.
The main reason why we experienced this surge is that the Goovernment made a terrible decision to allow vaccinated persons to come in without testing and quarantine. They won't admit it though but you can see with the new policy where they are testing and quarantine that they know they did wrong. I find it strange that you opted to leave out the rest of the Caribbean that have never experienced this kind of surge. Is it because their vaccination levels are low?

At this point the government needs to declare a mandatory lockdown. The whole place needs to be reset! I myself is on the fence about the vaccine but its this particular vaccine they are pushing. Stay prayed up and protect yourself! That's all we can do at this point.
My God, my people, we need prayer and the adherence to the protocols of Good Science-i.e. vaccinations, distancing, masks, stay-at-home-strictly adhered to protocols, et. al..
