Fathers show style & coolness at UMI Funky Friday [Photoslide Included]
Dubbed “Super fathers and models”, 10 fathers accompanied by either their children or grandchildren, showed off some of the casual, semi formal and formal wear UMI has to offer for Father’s Day which will be celebrated on Sunday June 17.
The first of its kind, proprietor Deborah O’Neal was enthused with the support shown from the public for the mini- fashion show and revealed that she is upping the pace in offering a wider selection of clothing for the men in the community.
“We are stepping it up a bit because there have been complaints that we focus more on women’s apparel. We are doing a lot of bow ties and lots of shirts... we are taking it up to the edge,” the effervescent proprietor told Virgin Islands News Online.
This news agency could not resist asking Ms. O’Neal how she was able to lure the men to participate, with a laugh she replied, “They know good stuff when they see it and they know UMI is aligned with good things so as long as we call and saw its UMI they come.”
Pleased with the turnout and response, “super fathers and models” will now be an annual event.
