Set for 4:00pm, Mr Turnbull Sr added, "It is an exciting time for CGBBC," as transition starts on 24 March and will culminate on March 26, 2023 in a weekend celebration is dubbed 'Transformative Transition."
Senior Pastor Reverend Dr Melvin A. Turnbull, who has led the church for 48 years, along with his wife, First Lady Minister Marion M. Turnbull, had announced his intention to transition on Sunday, July 18, 2022, to the congregation in the sanctuary and those worshipping online.
"The installation is historical for CGBBC because I was thrust into the role without transition or warning. Now, I can hand the baton to Dr Mike in a special way that sets the trajectory for how things are done when he hands over the baton."
The Church, in a press release, said to commemorate this installation, Senior Pastor Elect Dr Mike, and First Lady Elect Minister Shondrea will be hosting a Community Block Party on the grounds of the church starting at 6:30 PM on Friday, March 24, 2023, to celebrate this historic transition.
Transition to be meaningful - CGBBC
It added that the Senior Pastor Elect and First Lady Elect wants the transition to be meaningful, and to change lives in the process where they can ensure that CGBBC touches the lives of people wherever they are across the Territory.
"The transition is not an exercise; it must mean something. We are excited about our transition weekend. We invite and welcome all the people of the Virgin Islands to come out and celebrate God's goodness with us," the Senior Pastor said.
There will be live music by High-Frequency Band and Dj Dre, bounce house and other activities for children, food, and more.
Then on Saturday, March 25, 2023, the Church will have a preparatory day ahead of its Sunday morning service at 9:30 AM and the installation service at 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoon.

Mixed up in their worldly ways then want to go preach to people.
That’s why so many are on the wrong path following these deceptive examples instead of following Christ.
Poker Run, flashy lifestyle, broadcasting what money is donated to who from poker run are hypocritical and contrary to the Word of God.
Look at what Poker Run attracts. The secular music, the half naked attire, the drinking.

You guys look down on everybody and sometimes have nothing good to say.
This should be a time we applaud the young man and wish him God’s blessings but all you get is a set of negativity. In bible days, sons reign after their father’s death. Although his father is not dead, it is commendable that he can pass down the mantle to his son, and still offer guidance and prayer in his journey. We Tortolians are enemies and haters to our very own people.
If it was a pastor from one of the Islands, then it will be another story, he got he sons, and blah blah blah
Congratulations Reverend Dr Turnbull and First Lady Mrs Turnbull. Accepting the challenge to live the rest of your life to serve others in God is such a great step to take. With this great calling, I wish you great satisfaction and happiness and pray that your ministry will transform lives, and fresh oil be released upon you for greater exploit. God bless you both.
Was any of the elders in the church ever groomed to take over or are they all ministers to be yes people to the pastor. I think not. Listen to the interview on 284 news. Whether the son was worth it or not, the church was going to be handed over to him any how. Could the board disapprove the pastor's son? nope. No church should be a family church. Do this and you make it a dangerous place to be. The wives must show what should only be seen by their husbands and the crack in the women pants on what is suppose to be a sacred pulpit is disgraceful, all in the name of a new generation. Show me where God's word changed to please a new generation. Your either rooted and grounded in God and his word, or you are not. You ether hot or cold. A life in God does not have space for luke warmness as he says that is where he will spew us out of his mouth. Then again its ok for the father to hand it down because it is not a real church, but a club. Sure they will bring out the beers and fine liquor when they can and call it communion. Go ahead till when God had enough. Notice the only thing God made that he got fedup with is man.
Believers, we better get serious out there, He said in His Word that others are watching, and base on all these comments it tells us that the Bible does not lie.
Pleas let the fruits of the spirit be seen in us, in our everyday lives, be examples to believers
Believers, do not give the opportunity to the unbelievers to blaspheme the Name of Jesus. He is the reason for our waking and sleeping, our up walking and living. Let Jesus, Son, & Holy Spirit be praise. Amen!
