Fake Govt ad in circulation

-public urged not to interact with the fraudulent advertisement

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Members of the public are being cautioned against interacting with a fraudulent advertisement currently in circulation claiming to be a legitimate opportunity from the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports.

An official bulletin from the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports says the fake bulletin making rounds on social media falsely claims to offer free online courses, certificates, and job recommendations on behalf of the ministry.

Don’t interact to avoid potential security/privacy breaches

“The public is asked to refrain from interacting with this advertisement to avoid potential security or privacy breaches as the ministry is not engaged in such initiatives,” the official bulletin states.

It also apologises for any inconvenience the fake bulletin may have caused.

    Well the bumbling minister ain’t doing diddly squat apart from traveling and reading her poetry in Hoa - so the scammers have come up with what she SHOULD be offering/doing.

    looks like BVI being targeted with electronic fraud: electricity department and now government: some of us gets some form of fraudulent emails from time to time: But targeting the Government System, lots of us will suffer

    These ads have been coming out on FB for some days now and surprisingly there has not been a clear statement from day 1 that its a scammer. Several people not knowing better believes the ads to be true and have fallen for them.

    Youall should have had them taken down from the moment they appeared.

    Despite its fraudulent nature, the concept is something worth considering, especially given the current demand for educators. Short, FREE, accredited online courses for potential educators.
