Extradite those guilty of “mashing up” VI families – East End Resident

- Family should matter in 2017
December 27th, 2016 | Tags: expatriates Marilyn McGowan family legislators
Residents said Family needs to matter in 2017.
EAST END, Tortola, VI – “It tears up my heart to see the men in the clubs getting down on other men’s women. It tears me up to see women sneaking in and out of married men’s cars and hotel rooms, it tears me up to see the loss of family values in the BVI and I know we can get it right again,” said Marilyn McGowan.

Ms. McGowan is a resident of the East End community and share with this news site as she and others spoke of the Virgin Islands ‘Then and now’ and resolutions for 2017. She was among both men and women and family matters took the centre of the discussion.

“There are enough men for women and women for men. Some men have to go back being fully man and those lesbians need to straighten out themselves and be the woman God made them to be,” ranted on the woman.

According to McGowan, legislators need to make provisions in laws, if there is none, and encourage the law enforcement (Royal Virgin Islands Police Force) to take action if there is a law, to extradite both men and women expatriates who come to the Virgin and found guilty of “Mashing up” families.

“A lot of these types of cases go to the court, and to social development so I know that there are ways of getting a hold on these matters.”

Discuss Family Matters in House of Assembly

One man alleged the he was once employed at the Labour Department and recalled a former Premier (name called) instructing that work permits not be renews for at least five persons both men and women “I will always respect (name called) because those people were in this country making marriages messy. And we need to do these things again. Do not allow persons to stay in our country if they are making persons marriages unhappy. Unhappy couples can and should learn to devise ways to keep their homes happy. We can do it, so let us do it. I am sick and tired of see women crying because their man out there cheating on them and they at home trying to do their best to make the family work and be happy. It is a sad thing and this type of discussion need to start in our House of Assembly. Let’s take a 20-minute there and discuss family matter.”

Idol-Centred lives

Adding to her resolutions for 2017, McGowan said she was inspired by a message/Sermons For The Modern Church which said, “Enough of the back biting. Enough of the wanting what others have. Enough of trying to be better than others or have something they have. Now is the time to make the right kind of changes and consider just how much of our lives have become idol centered. What is there at home that takes too much time away from our time with God?”

According to the message she shared with this news site, “For some, the answer will be the 40 inch black box in the centre of the living room [guilty], where the films and Netflix are, or Sky and the likes. For others, it might be the activities we take part in religiously each day or week that perhaps, need to be thought through again. Do we need them or do we need to declutter our lives and make more room for God and more room for living out his purpose in our lives? If so, then we need to have the grace and patience, as well as the awareness, to see these things and cease them where the need arises.”

Yep why blaming the people who come here? . I know sometimes we cause this on ourselves. Speaking from experience i just get tired of everything at times. Or should I say with age things change. I would withold sex for no reason when communicating about it I make belief that my man is cheating....sad. I moved into another anh nearly say a word to him for about 2 years . I know he's now trying to start a relationship else where, but guess what? Its my fault. So we cannot really blame expats. We pull down our skirts too early we shon our man and then blame expats. .one famous saying.. If mother hen knows how to keep their roost their co#k will not go astray

They are wreaking havoc on people's marriages and then they up and down in church playing christian. I can only encourage the persons whose homes that are being ripped apart because of infidelity to pray. Prayer changes people and situations.

I will admit though that many men want a variety and so on, which is wrong.

Ms. Mcgowan with all due respect you cannot blame solely expatriates for the breakdown of the family which is the most important component of our society. By asking that legislation be introduced to penalize those expatriates who are guilty of having affair is unreasonable and may well be unconstitutional. You see it takes two to tango so what happens to the married Man/Woman who gets involved in these affairs are they blameless? Should they not be penalized too? Men/Women have been cheating ever since the beginning of time and I don't believe deporting every expatriate who have an affair is a solution or even part of a solution. All you are doing is dividing the country more than it already is.

The same lawmakers who you are asking to enact legislation live double lives where they front with their wives t events and around elections but live bachelor lives for the duration. You seriously think they have time with you?

Modern day society is filled with so many distractions that have resulted in the erosion of the moral fabric of the society. It used to be TV and the VCR now we have the internet at our fingertips on a smartphone or PC. All these are great tools if used wisely but oftentimes they are not. What about asking that the church be more involved in the society rather than just having exclusive events that cater to churchgoers rather than the secular. The church must come out in the society and have forums about sex, social media usage and why the need for protection as well as respect for your other half and being loyal.

Quit being judgmental and try being solution oriented.

@hah glad you put it this way simple its not your fault she is married. Sometimes i wonder if some people listens to what comes out of their mouth. To ask for such a law is just nonsense. We all out here talking about D.T how he is so wrong for America and the world, but this woman want to play God with people's life. Laws are put in place to punish those of us who do wrong. When this law is pass and the person or persons that breaks the law are both Virgin Islanders what happens to them. Common sense really not common any more. Lady where have you been living under a rock. Now you want to speak about God he has always been there ,but we have better things to do with our lives like build big houses that we dont need buy fancy cars that could hardly drive on tola road. Lady if you see that this is a big problem in the country lay on your face for the next fourty days and call out to God ,and ask him to fix what is wrong in the country. If everyone of us pray and ask God to take control of what is going on he will remove those that needs to be remove. When God take the trouble makers off your island no one can bring them back. There is nothing in the world to beat prayers.

Can't you talk about family values without expats being the focal point of your discussion? this attack on expats make your discussion bias and your message on family values is lost. Are you saying that the local men and women don't take part in extramarital relationships? or what punishment should be apply to the locals who step out on their partners? do you believe by deporting an expat who had a relationship with a local wife or husband will solve their problems at home? have you ever though that such actions might make it worse? Men and women, husbands and wife will seek happiness where they find it, if you can make them happy in their home or their relationship, others will do, that is just life. You have control over yourself, no one is beholding to you. If the relationship is not working, fix it or walk away. Stop looking at expats as the cause of your problems, your problems start and end with you.

Poor mankind. It is no time to cast blame on a particular group of persons for the family woes. In each group of people infidelity can be found. Here is the solution and I said it a long time, let people have multiple legal partners. Women doing the dickons in their houses, man still going out; men doing the shikons in his house providing and the pissy-tail wives looking man on he. It is not easy. Perhaps if it is preached the importance of empowering the entire family by not sharing your wealth around, that may hold somebody, but when man and women cannot resist temptation and each pelee comes around and tell them them pretty, them gone; and each pum-pum come around wiggling, man gone, it is a problem. Let it be legal like Solomon's time, let a man has as many wives he can take care of equally and as much side-flings as he wants. Perhaps then most would be happy. Long and short, this thing will not stop unless a lot of tarties and woods get rotten out. In the meantime, let us live as a united group because other groups watching us and want us to fight each other. We are one people, let us love, love and get along. We going need it soon.
