MIAMI, Florida, USA- Ex-Premier of the [British] Virgin Islands (VI) Mr Andrew A. Fahie has reportedly asked a Florida court for more time to press United States (US) prosecutors about the identity of their confidential informant.

Mr Fahie, through his attorney, had initially requested a federal judge to delay his July 18, 2022, trial date to early 2023, and had a subsequent extension to July 17, 2023.

St Thomas Source is now reporting that Mr Fahie has now requested the July 17 trial date be pushed back to at least November 1, 2023.

The former Virgin Islands’ Premier, Mr Fahie, is to be tried on cocaine smuggling and money laundering charges.

Fahie allegedly wants to know what the Maynards are saying

In addition, according to St Thomas Source on June 21, 2023, Mr Fahie also sought to know what former BVI Ports Authority (BVIPA) Managing Director Oleanvine Pickering Maynard and her son Kadeem S. Maynard told prosecutors.

The Maynards both changed their plea to guilty on June 12 to a single count of cocaine smuggling conspiracy. They’ve agreed to tell prosecutors all they know, according to court documents.

They are now expected to be sentenced on August 21, 2023.

The USVI publication reported that Mr Fahie’s attorney has filed a series of sealed motions, hidden from public view, asking the court to compel prosecutors to reveal the names of people who recorded more than 8,000 minutes of audio tape on which Fahie allegedly gleefully agreed to the drug-running plot.

The government’s refusal to turn over their secret source’s name, and information on potential payment they received for their services from federal officials, hinders Fahie’s ability to adequately defend himself, his attorney argued on Tuesday, June 20, 2023.

The issue of the confidential source’s identity, transcription of the tapes, and multiple terabytes of evidence extracted from Fahie’s digital devices and other data has been a point of contention since at least October 2022.

According to St Thomas Source, US Prosecutors delivered the most recent batch of tape transcriptions on June 9, 2023, according to court records.

Yeah that is what we are taught as black youths. Whenever we get in trouble, instead of standing up like men and face the consequences of our action is to find someone or something to blame. Yeah it was slavery and the colonizers that cause this man to do what he is alleged to have done.

They will never give up the informant. As far as we know the informant could be a family member, someone from his District or someone in his circle.

The informants identity should be revealed so the attorneys can cross examine the informants credibility.

This is not the BVI where he would have gotten a pass and business would have continued. Whoever the informant is, it is not going to fly, Andrew was the one who made contact with the Feds marked money. He now want to put the informant in danger. I don’t think the US court system allows informants identity to be revealed, Perhaps in the BVI but not in the US.

He must be thinking like he is still in control like he took control of the STIMULUS MONEY that was supposed to go to the people of the territory.INSTEAD, HE GIVE THE MONEY TO A SELECT FEW AND WHO HE CHOSE TO GIVE THE STIMULUS MONEY TO. A neighbor of mine got a $20,000 dollar check for farming, I have yet to see a fruit tree planted on the land. All I see is overgrown bushes and rocks.

The head coach is entitled to a robust defense, so he should get a reasonable amount of time to prepare his defense In the US justice system, one is innocent until proven guilty by a judge, magistrate or a jury of one’s peers. That is the theory any way. There is much more that can be said but will wait for the jury verdict, ie, non-guilty or guilty or hung jury.

Despite the situation I wish AF well. Because of party affiliations he did not look out for me or my family but I always respected him and never engaged in any type of negativity or character assassination against him. I always prayed for him and give him the best time of the day when ever we met. As for now, he is innocent until proven guilty. I wish him all the best.

I wonder why he is so focused on who the informant is, but perhaps if he gets that information he will plead guilty. He just want to know so that he will get an idea as to how much the Feds really know. They need to hurry up and provide the information so the dude could better defend himself.

By the way @ American you sound like a colonizer. And you country is the mad dog of the world yet you are so proud, play that trumpet.

How did it go in Afghanistan? Vietnam?
