ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The sometimes-controversial Ms. Esther N. Fraser, an Administrative Manager for the BVI Tourist Board (BVITB), has reportedly been terminated from the job, according to information reaching our newsroom.

It is our understanding from sources on the BVI Tourist Board familiar with the matter that she was let go on Friday, September 8, 2023, following a meeting.

Two other sources on the Board speaking on condition of anonymity said they believed two matters allegedly led to her termination. One of the matters is an alleged insubordination, and the other, an allegation of having a second job when she was to be working from home for the BVI Tourist Board.  

Hater of local business she does not agree with?

Ms. Fraser's name surfaced in 2020 when she was a part of a small idle group trying to kill a local business over a cartoon they did not like, by bullying the corporate community to stop advertising with that company. 

The plot failed and the locally owned and operated business has continued to ‘soar on wings like eagles’.  

It is unclear what Ms. Fraser's compensation package will be, as our news center has not yet obtained a copy of her termination letter.  However, a former member of the Tourist Board staff sent us an email notice of her departure from the BVITB.

Both the BVITB Director Clive L. McCoy and Ms Fraser, could not be reached for comments up to publication time.

    Only Tourist Board has the guts to fire people? There are many more in other departments who are not functioning, goofing off all day and even sleeping on the job but still collect a full salary every month. This place is so unjust.

        If “Why” mention the Departments his/her comment would be extremely LONG.
        EVERY Department in Government have them. They come late, call in sick often and they don’t perform but still collecting a salary every 2 weeks.
        Why is it so difficult to get rid of them? Everybody know everybody family but that sh** need to change and do the right thing.
        HR know who a lot of them are but they will have to start with those in their Department first.

    This little BVI is full on bad minded people. We hide behind the blogs and gloat or celebrate each other's demise. It's sickening. Nobody is perfect. People just love a bad story and misery. How are we as a people like this? The slogan should be BVI hate because what is displayed and written on the blogs is just pure unadulterated hatred for each other. We can people all kinds of hate and just attack them like dogs because we may not appreciate them or their personality. It's so sad. There is something morally wrong with someone who celebrates the demise of another. We need to just stop with the gross hatred.

    You mean we have a govt employee working more than one job? They actually have the audacity to not devote 100% of the 40hrs per week they are paid to work by the taxpayers on something other than govt business? A second job? Who does this sort of thing? Im shocked!

      How shocking is working more than one job? A whole set of government employees are working more than one jobs. It's either you work more than one legal jobs or do something illegal. The past premier said his salary wasn't enough. You all need to let people live Not everyone has a big salary and bills have to be paid

    We continue to celebrate the downfall of another whether she advocated for change or against the agenda of the movers and shakers. She may had her reasons but her termination is another reason I refuse to do business in the BVI.

    As a multimillionaire I can assist manny but as a citizen I am discouraged by the low moral and despicable mentality our people continue to display downgrading others because of their beliefs, opinion, or decision.

    Until the people change we will continue to have a beautiful place full of hypocrisy and hatred.

    I agree taxi blogger. They show up to work late and because they are the supervisor no one question their authority or reprimand them. It have a government employee who is a taxi driver and the other is a guard who taxi on government hours when ever a ship comes in. When the other employees are being forced to cover for their supervisor for exchange of favors. Which causing some employees from having lunch or even get a bathroom break. And then when it comes to promoting the staff or staffs who are working tirelessly to make them look good can't even get a good appraisal. The government departments are very much corrupted. There are to much nepotism been carried out by head of departments and supervisors. But it needs to stop.
