ESHS resumes in-person learning tomorrow, Feb 26

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Students of Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) will return to the classroom tomorrow, February 26, 2025, since the water issue in Road Town has been resolved.

The students were sent home at 12:45 pm on Monday, February 24, 2025, and told to remain home on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

Principal Vanessa K. Garraway had informed parents and guardians via a letter on Monday that the early dismissal was due to a "major water situation" in the entire Road Town area.

In a letter to parents and guardians on Tuesday, Principal Garraway stated that the water issue has been resolved that in-person learning will resume tomorrow, Wednesday.

“Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time. We appreciate your support in ensuring that learning continued smoothly while we transitioned to virtual instruction.

"We look forward to welcoming our students back to campus and continuing with our regular schedule. Please ensure they arrive on time and are prepared for the day,” Garraway wrote in the letter seen by our News Centre.

Leak in water system

The Water and Sewerage Department notified the public on Monday that water services in Road Town were suspended due to a leak in the water system.

“The public is notified that water services have been fully restored to all areas in Road Town, including locations from Slaney Hill Road to Paraquita Bay,” the Water & Sewerage Department announced today, February 25, 2025.
