ESHS Rams are Jr Champions of Hon Maduro-Caines League
The Championship games are being played this weekend at the Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff’s Bottom on the main island of Tortola.
In the Junior League that started on April 21, 2017 it was a clean sweep for the Elmore Stoutt High School Rams who was up against the Elmore Stoutt High School Senior Rams Team. At last night’s (April 22, 2017) game, the Rams brought it home with a 92-87 points win after the game went into overtime.
The Junior League MVP is Noel Chris McKelly of the Rams.
In the senior championship game it’s a clash between youth and experience. It’s East up against Lions of Purcell. The Lions were able to win a game on Friday in the best out of three. However, last night (April 22, 2017) East came back in a dramatic but easy win, pushing the game to a final game tonight in a 1-1 tie.

The East has both experience, fire power and skills with players such as Ray D. Victor, Kennedy H. Bass, Kerry J. Thomas, Cedrick King and Phillip Glasgow to name a few. However, the Lions have youth on their side with players such as Dion M. Blyden, Jevon K. Serrant, Devorn H. Furlonge, Stephon S. Caul and Kimron A. Telemaque.
Whoever wins tonight will be the 2017 Hon Alvera Maduro-Caines Sixth District League Champions. The winning team is expected to receive trophies and cash.
According to Eustace ‘Boss’ Freeman, a Sixth District League organiser, tonight’s only game will start at 7:00 PM at the Save the Seed Energy Centre in Duff’s Bottom and admission is free.
