Environmental concerns force relocation of Romalia Smith Clinic on Anegada

In the April 1, 2025, bulletin, the BVIHSA said residents can access the clinic’s services at the Smith’s apartment to continue providing essential care.
The relocation was necessary as the environmental concerns require “further assessment”.
In 2023, due to infrastructure concerns, the clinic was temporarily closed for assessment and necessary repairs.
Precautionary measure; emergencies only
Though the BVIHSA did not disclose what the environmental concerns were, it did say the relocation was done as a precautionary measure.
Emergency services will still be available at the clinic while the situation is being addressed.
“Further updates will be provided as assessments are completed.”
Community members and the general public were thanked for their understanding and cooperation.
The BVIHSA said it is working “swiftly to ensure the highest standards of care…[and] resolve the issue”.
Those requiring medical assistance for medical emergencies are encouraged to call (284) 440-1646.
