Electric surfboards & dive scooters coming to Marina Cay
From thrilling eFoil and aquaDART rentals to slower-paced kayaks, paddleboards and snorkel equipment, visitors will be able to explore above or below the water at their own speed, a press release from Scrub Island Resort, Spa and Marina today, March 5, 2024, stated.
Commonly described as “electric surfboards,” eFoils are electric-powered hydrofoil boards that allow riders to soar above the waves at up to 20 mph, while the aquaDART is the world’s fastest and most powerful dive scooter, allowing users to cover miles of underwater territory above or beneath the water.
eFoils already available
According to the press release, equipment is available for hourly or full-day rentals for groups and individuals, and lessons are available for eFoiling. It also said eFoils are currently available, with the remainder of the watersport activities launching in the near future.
Closed since Hurricane Irma in 2017, the legendary Marina Cay has been brought back to life by neighboring Scrub Island Resort, Spa & Marina, which now manages the island filled with rich history.
Marina Cay, eight-acre private island just offshore from Beef Island, is available via the complimentary Scrub Island ferry, which departs from both Trellis Bay and the resort. Locals and island-hoppers traveling by boat may also use the BoatyBall app to reserve one of 29 mooring balls.
More reasons to visit Marina Cay
“The addition of watersports gives visitors lots of ways to enjoy our mini destination longer than just for a delicious meal or refreshing drink,” said General Manager Sandra Grisham-Clothier.
She also said Marina Cay’s ideal location and picturesque setting are perfect for guests who want to extend their time on the island with a day of fun water play.
Watersport activities are available Sunday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Marina Cay Bar & Grill is open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, serving lunch and dinner.

And please do not let anyone that has an accident be subsidized by the NHI....
This is just going to be a Puerto Rico playground, not Natures Little Secrets.
Who allowed this anyway?
