ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Education Ministry is set to be the sole beneficiary of a 10,000 Smiles, Dolphins Drawing Smiles Changing Lives initiative, slated for this Saturday April 29, 2017.

General Manager of Dolphin Discovery, Raul D. Gonzalez, in an exclusive interview with our newsroom, explained that the initiative stemmed from a Kids Day that is being observed on a yearly basis in Mexico, where the company is headquartered.

He informed that in every country where the Dolphin Discovery franchise exists in the Caribbean, April 29, 2017 will be the day the franchise celebrates children and will be giving back to the community.

Promise of fun-filled day

“So in all our facilities in the Caribbean they are going to celebrate the same day –the 29th,” he said. “We are trying to get a lot of kids, a lot of people and we are going to have a really good time on Saturday. Balloons, candies, music, some games, it’s going to be good.”

Since the offer has been hitting the streets and social and other media platforms, the General Manager said the people are coming forward to support the worthy cause.

The special price of $15 for children and $25 for adults will begin from 11:00 AM and end at 2:00 PM.

Education Ministry to benefit

“All the money that we collect in that day it’s going to an education programme here in the BVI. When we collect the money and we have the amount, I will go to the Education Minister and let him know that we have that money and we want to help,” Mr Gonzalez remarked.

The event is expected to become a yearly one.

that figures. anything to make money. The earlier dolphins got sick. the pen was supposedly to shallow and warm. These animals should not be treated as entertainment and money makers. It is cruel. Another thing to question Fraser's judgement on.

I think it is disgusting to keep the dolphins in such a small area, they should all be ashamed to be apart of it. Let the dolphins back out in to the ocean where they belong !

I don't care if its free. I will not support any organization that keeps these poor dolphins locked up like this.
