Dr. Pickering can be VI’s Premier – Fraser

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI – The newly elected Deputy Premier of the Virgin Islands Dr. Kedrick Pickering has come in for high praise from members of the Virgin Islands Party with one member seeing him as a future Premier of the Territory.

Speaking earlier today, Thursday November 10, 2011 at a Virgin Islands Party (VIP) press conference at Brisani at Prospect Reef, 3rd District Representative Hon. Julian Fraser while extending congratulations to the new Government of the National Democratic Party, he offered special congratulations to Dr. Pickering.

Hon. Fraser said this is the fourth term that Dr. Pickering has been elected but his first time seeking office and he sees him to be a future Premier of the Virgin Islands.

Be patient with Government

The former Minister for Communications and Works under the VIP Government further said that he thinks the new Government of the National Democratic Party (NDP) deserves the patience of the people and the people of the Territory must be patient with them.

Former At Large representative Irene Penn- O’Neal also had high praises for Dr. Pickering and said she takes her hat off to him.

According to O’Neal who was a first time elected representative for the last four years, Dr. Pickering is a personal friend and has helped her to understand the rules, regulations and cautioned her as it regards politics.

At the 2011 General Elections of the Virgin Islands, the NDP defeated the VIP a the polls 9-4, taking five district seats and the four At Large seats.

      Billyb, please. Like they say, opinions are like a$$$holes. Everybody has one and you sure are talking through yours. Mr. Frazer is expressing his wishes to the new Goverment and you take issue with it. He is being a professional and yes, he does has class. You are probaly one of those people who have never even had a conversation with Mr. Frazer, listened to his views or even bothered to get to now him as an individual but take issue to everything about him.         you might be surprised that I know fraser better and longer than you. When a man is going to join the former Premier in the mudslinging campagne, visiting opponents bedroom, injecting themselves in peoples personal affairs, rubbing it in that he has been married for 32 years. Any man with sense could read between the lines and get exactly where he was coming from. THAT IS NOT CLASS!!!!! He need to learn from Pickering, who won big by saying little. THAT'S CLASS.     I think frazer came a long way I hate his rear end, but he's grown up a lot, but he's right Dr P could be the next Lead he has the patience most pople don't have, and form my personal view I think that NDP should work along side with the vip, I think Myron should team up with Mr. Fahie to get personal information with Education and grow from there and Dr. Smith should team up with Ralph to get information more about the Finance in the BVI, and Also Dr. Pickering with Frazer for Commucation... My thing is no bashing, just put the country back into prospective, you can combine New and Old and get Extrdarnay People in this country.

    You Ignorant/Arrogant people are ungrateful for the good Julian Fraser has accomplished on your behalf! Because of his efforts we have options in the telecoms sector amongst his other accomplishments; you people are too damn ungrateful! Gone are the days we voted on morals and good governance; it seems to be the norm now that we vote based on the personal attention we’ve received from our elected officials, (Fix my road, build me a retaining wall, get me a scholarship); those of you who have done so and continue to do so clearly do not have the best interest of the BVI or its inhabitants or the future of this territory in mind; YOU ARE SELFISH AND AUGHT TO BE ASHAMED OF YOUR ACTIONS AND YOURSELVES! This election was stolen from the youth of this territory and as a youth of this territory I am ashamed of my peers, ashamed that you let yourselves be blindsided by the promises that we were guaranteed; OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE! I’m not only irate at my political options I’m also irate at a few preachers, two in particular, one asks people if they eat stupid bush and the other sought to create contention and animosity within the opposing party by airing a video for his campaign that probably did just that; this is not right by biblical principles and much, much less by OUR MORAL STANDARDS! - YOU WILL BE JUDGED BY THE SAME GOD YOU CLAIM TO SPEAK ON BEHALF OF! They were desperate to get him back in because they know NOTHING about self sufficiency!!!! Look at them and see how many have jobs, all they do is depend on an 'accountant general' check but want to be making the most noise. We pay the most for internet services in the BVI, cable TV is SH$$$T! Cell phone calls are dropping all over the place, LIME & Digicel doing what the heck they want out of us, sewerage running all over, no proper water source, filling in lands without permission, using government funds on a marina while other places neglected. Fraser accomplishments? I beg you hard and fast keep off his kool aid!!!! I know people who voted for him because he convinced them that he would get them Crown land for FREE!!! They said plain out they can't stand a bone in his body, he did nothing, but they want their land. STUPID FOOLS!! Land that!! ...I'm OUT!!!! I hope they investigate him for all the underhanded nonsense he was involved in. Somebody said he's a humble man. Humble man? When he needs your vote and once he keeps you fed of course he will be humble in your book. Let's see how many of you he remember now that the pressure is on and he no longer has power..
