Dr Allison C. Flax-Archer launches Box 2- A Glimpse into Virgin Islands History
The Box- A Glimpse into Virgin Islands History is the brainchild of Dr Allison C. Flax Archer.
The launch of Box 2 was done at the Red Door Garden in Cappoon’s Bay, where those in attendance included cultural icon Eileene L. Parsons, OBE and cultural advocate and Director of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports Brenda Lettsome-Tye.
Box 4 coming!
“I’m just delighted today to launch Box 2, yes I’m just about finished with Box 4…and there will be 10 by the grace of God, with surprises in between,” Dr Flax-Archer, the wife of Deputy Governor David D. Archer Jr, disclosed.
Dr Flax-Archer said she will continue to promote the Virgin Islands' history and culture through the various editions of The Box.
“I am going to continue learning because The Box does not have everything. It gives you nuggets so that you will go and research on your own and try to find the truth.”
Box 1 was launched on May 19, 2022.
‘The Box, like the Bible, should be in every home’- Eileene L. Parsons, OBE
Ms Parsons, who said Dr Flax-Archer was in her top 10 of favourite persons, commended her efforts in bringing awareness to the VI’s “cultural roots and interesting history” in her production of The Box.
“I honestly feel that a copy, like the Bible, should be in every home.
“Government should purchase a copy for every school. I do not mean one copy, I mean three and four for every school. It should be mandatory that the contents of The Box be a part of every lesson plan,” Ms Parsons recommended.
Making an appearance, much to the delight of the audience, was Mr Leon Jeffers aka ‘Kazzack’ in his unique territorial costume.
Many persons seized the opportunity to purchase The Box (1&2), with many intending also to gift others.

Keep up the good work ????
“I honestly feel that a copy, like the Bible, should be in every home.
God should take precedence over every and everything including culture. That being said, how do we promote culture when so many Virgin Islanders identify as LBTQ, worship other gods, and see Christmas as merely gift-giving and eating and not spiritual?
If I've read correctly, this item is about promoting our culture!
You're soo way left field on this issue, mehson!
