PASEA ESTATE, Tortola, VI- The Financial Services Commission (FSC) is advising the public to refrain from conducting business with Oliver Virtanen.

The statement on November 5, 2024, pursuant to Section 37A of the Financial Services Commission Act, 2001, the FSC said was necessary to protect, customers, creditors or persons who may have already been solicited to conduct business with Oliver Virtanen.

Forged license

The FSC said this individual “has never been licensed or regulated by the FSC to carry on any type of financial services business”.

It warns that Oliver Virtanen is circulating a forged investment business licence and is falsely purporting to have been licenced by the FSC for dealing in investments and Arranging Deals in investments as a person licensed and regulated by the FSC.

“The FSC hereby informs the public that Oliver Virtanen is not and has never been licensed or regulated by the FSC to carry on investment business, or any other financial services business in or from within the Territory of the Virgin Islands,” the FSC added in its statement.

Public advised to be cautious

The FSC is therefore advising members of the public to “exercise extreme caution if solicited at any time and to avoid conducting any business with Oliver Virtanen”.

Members of the public are also encouraged to provide the FSC with relevant information on any “questionable entities” supposedly operating in or from within the VI, and “any improper activities engaged in by such entities”.

You close down local businesses for not having a license, so close this sucker down and kick him OUT of the BVI! Tear down his signs and deport him, PERIOD! There should be no holdup so innocent people don't get bamboozled.

I say drag his behind tied up to a truck down to the ferry dock and catch him a good swift kick out of dodge.

nowhere does it say that the individual resides in the BVI... he's pretending to be licensed by the BVI and likely marketing to individuals in the BVI from abroad.

Surely this individual does not reside in the BVI. These fraudsters will pop up ever so often. Good work FSC!
