District League Playoffs continues tonight with VG home games

SPANISH TOWN, Virgin Gorda, VI – The BVI Basketball Federation (BVIBF) National 'District' League playoffs will continue tonight with two games on Virgin Gorda (VG) featuring the Jr VG Bayside Blazers Vs Jr East Rockers clashing at 7:00 pm, followed by Gunz Vs VG Bayside Blazers at 9:00 pm.

Public Relations Officer for the tournament, Eustace C. Freeman aka 'Boss' said the Games will be held at the Jeffrey Caines Sports Arena in Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda where tickets will cost $7 for adults and $5 for children and face masks will be required.

Freeman said he is expecting Virgin Gordans to come out and show their full support for the home teams on home soil. 

Meanwhile, in last night’s Friday, September 24, 2021, games, the BVI Basketball Federation reported that Z6NE took down JR Skillful Ballers with Kalique Maduro delivering a spectacular performance.

VG Bayside Blazers continues undefeated 

The federation said Maduro’s shooting from the 3 point mark has improved from a 30% shooting mark to 48% on the scorecard as a highlight of the night.

“They are scheduled to face the JR. Skillful Ballers in an elimination tournament for the fight in the playoff series best of 3 games to see who will advance in the playoffs,” the report said.

Additionally, Gunz was defeated by VG Bayside Blazers putting the first win of the two teams on the card 1- 0.

The saga will continue tonight where eager VG fans will see if the Guns will either get swept by the VG Bayside Blazers or they will take the game to ‘Game 3' to end the undefeated streak of the VG Bayside Blazers.
