Dion Thomas pleads guilty to drugs, gun & ammo charges

JOHN’S HOLE, Tortola, VI – Dion Thomas, the 39-year-old man found with drugs, an illegal firearm and two sets of ammunition during this year’s Festival activities, has admitted to the charges laid against him in the Magistrate Court, at John's Hole, Tortola.

Thomas appeared before Magistrate Giselle Jackman-Lumy, yesterday, September 12, 2018, and entered a guilty plea.

He was represented by Attorney-at-Law, Patrick Thompson and Reynela Rawlins.

It was on August 6, 2018, as officers of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) were on patrol on the main island of Tortola, when during a stop-and-search operation they uncovered 12.1 grams of marijuana, a XD 45 semi automatic pistol, 10 rounds of .45 calibre bullets and 47 rounds of .9 calibre bullets.

When Thomas—of Hannah’s Estate—made his first appearance in the Magistrate’s court last month, he was remanded to Her Majesty’s Prison, BalsumGhut, Tortola.

He faces no less than five years, a fine of $50,000 or both, for illegal gun alone, and is scheduled to return to court on September 21, 2018.

      All the small money u claim it is for he , see if he can spend he big money up where he goin... im not glad it happened to him but by those typa comments yall making , its like yall feel its ok to do the stuff u do and then jus pay ur way out...Nooooo parna. Balsum ghut ain got gucci stores, marine stores, car dealers , jewelery stores or none ah that which yall big money spends on......the money is noooo use when yuh balsum ghut getting ur sauce and come back on the streets tay tay
