ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The BVI Diabetes Association is celebrating World Diabetes Day today, Thursday, November 14, 2024, under the theme ‘With appropriate access to diabetes care and support for their well-being, everyone with diabetes has the chance to live well’.

“Today we observe this condition that affects millions of people worldwide, and thousands in our own Territory!” the diabetes association wrote on its Facebook Page.

The post added that while insulin was developed 100 years ago, type 2 diabetes is a major threat to health today even with it being “preventable and curable”.
