GAINESVILLE, Florida, USA- Virgin Islands’ Deya Y. Erickson set a new national record in the 60M Women’s Hurdles on Friday, February 7, 2025, with a time of 8.32 seconds.

Miss Erickson competed at the Celebration Point Classic in Florida, where she also finished in first place. 

The Celebration Pointe Classic is primarily a collegiate team invitational that also includes individual post-collegiate athletes.

Deya competed for Empire Athletics. 

Deya held previous national record

Deya is also the previous national record holder in the 60M Women’s Hurdles with a time of 8.48 seconds. 

She shaved 16 seconds from her time with the new record.
