Designer Morgan Creque praised by Acting Governor for advances in local fashion design
Every Thursday, Mr. Archer highlights individuals making a significant contribution to the Virgin Islands (VI).
The Acting Governor said Miss Creque and her contributions are a “sterling example for young creatives” in the VI.
Morgan's Debut Collection launched this year
The Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts graduate recently launched her first clothing line, ‘OG Trippy Tortuga’ on May 26, 2024.
Her debut collection was revealed during the Global Glamour Runway Show during the 14th edition of Summer Sizzle BVI.
“With immense pride, I noted her culturally proud island-inspired designs, with the youthful finesse that is evident in the whimsical patterns of her work. Miss Creque has chosen a path of inspiration that is sure to encourage other young adults to pursue education and bring their learned skills back to our shores to further their crafts,” Mr. Archer added.
He applauded her multifaceted talents which range from sketch artistry to digital illustrations and designs.
This, Mr. Archer said, speaks to her versatility and ability she possesses to transcend the VI’s traditional boundaries in fashion for years to come.
