Department of Culture concludes series of book launches

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The Department of Culture recently concluded a series of book launches towards bolstering cultural and literary arts in the [British] Virgin Islands.

Added to the cadre of authors are Mrs Kenisha A. Sprauve with her book series, “Kimmy Goes", and Mrs Andria Flax, author of “In the Beehive The Regal Queen, the Lazy Drone & the Busy Worker Bee”.

Mr Joshua Edwards, Dr Albert L. Thompkins, and Walter D. Barrett co-authored “J.A.W.S. The Journey, the Approach, the Work to Success”. J.A.W.S. was launched on April 11, 2024.

Mrs Hildegarde Flaw-Shaw launched two books, “Sharing a Fly Wing A Memoir of Growing Up on Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands” and “An Enduring Passion”.

The Government of the Virgin Islands in a press release today, April 17, 2024, encouraged the public to support upcoming book launch events, which aim to promote the culture and heritage of the Virgin Islands.

    Clearly there is a serious gap in terms of the connectivity between those in politics and reading

    WHY IS CULTURE DOING BOOK LAUNCH AND WE BAVE AN ENTIRE LIBRARY UNIT WHAT ARE WE DOING….shouldn’t that be under education?
