Denise Dawson Back to School Ministry prepares some 100 for school

This she revealed to this news site following the staging of yet another successful back-to-school programme, Denise Dawson Back to School Ministry, which was held at the Purcell Methodist Church, Purcell, Tortola, on Saturday August 20, 2016.
The programme collaborated with The Purcell Methodist Church and the Purcell Girls’ Brigade and has once again seen approximately 100 children taking home well needed back-packs with school supplies, including colouring books, crayons, pencils, sharpeners, penmanship books and activity books, highlighters, binder leaves and binders.
“This is something that Denise Dawson always had the passion to do and her mother decided that we have to continue her legacy and come 2017 we are hoping to have the programme as a 6th District programme and not just Purcell,” said David.
Pep talk
To this end, Sixth District Representative Honourable Alvera Maduro-Caine was invited to interact with the children, parents and others who were present and she also delivered a pep talk especially to the children.
The Girls’ Brigade is an inter-denominational organisation where children of any church can be a part of the group. It is part of a global Christian movement with a passionate vision for this generation and the future.
The group is committed to seeing lives and communities transformed and enriched as individuals seek, serve and follow Jesus Christ.

I applaud the Girls Brigade and Denise's family for carrying on this project in her memory. We know that if her life was spared she would be doing no less. Keep up the good work folks because this is what this life is about. Giving, loving and caring for our fellow man because empty handed we came and empty handed we go.
