ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- The US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) said it is monitoring a tropical wave in the Eastern Tropical Atlantic Ocean that has potential for further development.

In an advisory on Thursday morning, June 15, 2023, the NHC said the disturbance is forecast to move off the west coast of Africa later Thursday and early Friday.

"Environmental conditions are expected to be conducive for gradual development of this system while it moves generally westward to west-northwestward at 15 to 20 mph across the eastern and central tropical Atlantic during the early to middle part of next week,” NHC said in its forecast

Forecasters said there is a 20 percent chance for the tropical wave to further develop over the next seven days.

The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) has also said it is monitoring the disturbance.

"We're monitoring a disturbance that National Hurricane Center expects will move off the coast of Africa later today or tomorrow," DDM stated on its Facebook page.

Whenever you see sailors in port on one of those grey ships, watch out, they are here to map out the course to send floods and hurricanes. Aim, to cripple our economy, to send us to beg them. "How dare you to bounce back from Irma like nothing happened in the place?" I am coming again. Watch out!!
