ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - The BVI Breast Cancer Awareness Club is now in a better place to advance their cause with a sizable donation received from the promoters of an annual social event.
For the past eight years 'DCrew' headed by Rayon Bethune and Sherwin Peters, two Guyanese residents in the Virgin Islands (VI) for close to two decades, have been promoting their annual Sound Clash and Bar-B-Que in partnership with a number of other local entities.

Throughout the years, they have been consistent in giving back to the community which has seen benefits to schools, the family support network, BVI Cancer Society and this year, the BVI Breast Cancer Awareness Club.

Just the beginning - DCrew

On March 13, 2020, they were joined by Junior Minister for Tourism, Honourable Sharie B. deCastro (AL) for a simple donation ceremony.  According to the Minister, she stands in solidarity with DCrew as they contribute to the work of the BVI Breast Cancer Awareness Club.

"Its admirable that every year they seek to do a donation to a charitable organization. They host an event, but they also are willing to give back to the community," deCastro said.

DCrew said that the donation is just a fraction of what they plan to do this year and pledged their commitment to helping in whatever little way they can, to make lives better for the residents of the territory.
