DA 3rd needle Medics in overtime in Hon Fraser League
DA 3rd were leading 58-50 at the end of the third quarter but Medics cut into the lead to make it even at 76 at the end of the 4th quarter.
After a thrilling battle in overtime, DA 3rd found themselves one point ahead: 88-87.
Koyma Nibbs (13 points), Rushawn Johnson (11 points, 11 rebounds, 6 steals) and Ceron Dasent (11 points) were the other DA 3rd players registering double figure scores.
Leading the hard fought challenge for Medics were Kahlim Skelton (20 points, 19 rebounds), Shaquille Lewis (19 points, 13 rebounds), Deshawne Douglas (12 points, 11 rebounds), Tre Brewley (11 points) and Larique Austrie (11 points).
Momentum vs Splash Brothers
In the second game of the evening, Momentum defeated Splash Brothers 84-79 in another closely fought affair.
Leslie Smith led Momentum with 25 points and 14 rebounds while Jasin Rhymer supported with 24 points and Devonte Furlonge 14 points and 13 rebounds. Trevor Searles netted 13.
Jamoiri Dagou and Ashield Frett both had 25 points for Splash Brothers, who had one of their biggest fans- Sixth District Representative Hon Alvera Maduro-Caines- cheering them on.
Demoii Dagou also chipped in with 13 points and pulled 13 rebounds while teammate D'Angelo Sampson sunk 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Splash Brothers' Draft Pick Juan R. Hatchet only had two points but pulled a whopping 16 rebounds.
Play continues on Friday, August 30, 2019 with a triple header.
At 6:30 pm Medics take on 79, at 8:00 pm Young Empire face DA 3Rd and at 9:30 pm Nex come up against Splash Brothers.
