HANNAH’S ROAD, Tortola, VI- Third District resident and former Speaker of the House of Assembly (HoA) Mr Julian Willock, along with his Third District Committee, has confirmed the hosting of the annual Third District Job Fair.

The Job Fair, according to a press release from the Third District Committee, will take place on Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM on the grounds of Therapy Works located at Hannah Bay, Tortola.

According to Mr Willock, some of the biggest resorts in the Virgin Islands, other businesses and statutory bodies will be on hand to market their many vacancies. Participants slated include Scrub Island Resort, Biras Creek, Oil Nut Bay, Moskito Island, Nanny Cay Marina, BVI Airports Authority, BVI Electricity Corporation, and the H Lavity Stoutt  Community College, just to name a few!

D3 residents encouraged to support

Mr Willock also noted in the press release that both the Social Security Board (SSB) and the National Health Insurance (NHI) agencies will be on hand to make presentations about benefits and contributions, as well as the Department of Labour and Workforce Development who will provide employment guidance.

He said the goal this year is to get at least 20 residents from District Three meaningfully employed, which will be an increase over last year's 11 employed. All residents in District Three and surrounding areas are strongly encouraged to attend the job fair to capitalise on available career opportunities.

Mr Willock noted that while the focus is on employment for District Three residents, no one will be turned away.
