Customs seizes Klass Electronics @ TPP for not declaring goods
Speaking exclusively with our newsroom, Comptroller of Customs Wade N. Smith said the action was taken because the store failed to “declare their goods via the HMC form.”
When asked what was the next step Mr Smith noted that under the Customs Act, the store owners can come into the customs department to settled the matter or the matter can go to court.
He said a few weeks ago there was another sporting store in the TPP that also was seized for violation of the laws and not declaring.
Mr Smith said his Department continues to promote “a level playing field for all importers”.
It was also noted that the TPP is an official customs ports of entry with storage space for goods.
The three owners of Klass Electronics could not be immediately reached for comments.
