COVID-19 outbreak: 273 active cases now recorded in VI
The new cases, 118, comes as the BVI Health Services Authority has returned the COVID-19 testing figures as of July 3, 2021.
As of yesterday, the number of recorded active cases numbered 155.
According to Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronald E. Georges, in an update on July 4, 2021, a total of 752 tests were run on July 2, 2021, with a further 118 samples testing positive for COVID-19.
273 active cases
“This brings our total active COVID-19 case count to 273,” Dr Georges informed.
He said of these 273 cases, 12 are quarantined on vessels and related to entry screening, 256 are on Tortola, four (4) on Virgin Gorda and one (1) on Jost van Dyke.
Travel screening, according to Dr Georges, accounts for 45 cases, while 206 cases are from contact tracing, with some persons presenting themselves or being screened due to attending the emergency room.
“With respect to the vaccination status of the 273 active cases, 55 percent are unvaccinated, 13 percent partially vaccinated, 17 percent vaccinated, and 15 percent not recorded or to be determined,” Dr Georges stated.

There ins only one word folks.....vaccinate !!!!!!
Don’t worry about their feelings worry about your mother and family.
Tell dont ask them to leave.
Doesn't it seem strange that when you go into the room to get your test, that the same gloves is used to go up your nose? Let me break it down. Someone goes in the room before you to do their covid-19 test. She/he comes out. The nurse says next (yes, in less than a second after the last person leaves).
Guess what - the room is NOT sanitized after the last person leaves. You go into the room, the person administering the test tells you to take off your mask. Notice that he does not sanitize his hands (gloves). He continues, by getting your liquid, and cotton thingy, and tells you, remove your mask.
Up your nose, or in front your nose, with the same infected hands in front of your nose.
What do you think? The last person or persons that came out of that room may burst a sneeze before he left or put on his mask, because of the cotton thingy that went up his nose. Or he may be Covid-19 positive. No one sanitizes the room after you or that person left. Your leave, then nurse tells the next person, Next.
And yes, it's that quick, the person administering the test DOES NOT sanitize himself. I've in this place (hospital ground) and port of entry three times to know that. I've seen it. There is no sensitization or nothing.
So what you expect, you're going to have new cases after 14 days, from persons who were last in there negative, but went back in there to test for travel or just precaution, end up being positive.
And it's from catching the Virus from the testing site. Trust me.
The person administering the test is protecting himself, not the person who is receiving the test.
just my thought
Every healthcare worker knows that you always change gloves for the next patient. Now, sanitizing the room is now a bit ridiculous. You sits in a chair hold your head back and you are out within the seconds. Lets be realistic.
Stop your conspiracy theories and get vaccinated. Wear your mask to cover your entire nose and mouth. And stop and think. Don’t make s*** up!
Reason enough to take it?
cat cut penn tongue or what- because not hearing any press conferences from the opposition leader
the vip opened the country so the economy can be stimulated so money on the rise
covid 19 is also rising in the VI so it might be good to hear from opposition leader; his brilliant ideas
May we in these hard and troubling time, reconize that the door of your mercy is still open wide, as you knock on the door of our hearts, that need healing, that you alone can and provide from this killer pandemic virus, covid-19. I present this prayer to you in the salvation
and healing name of your loving Son Jesus, with thanks. Amen.
When we were young we were given vaccines for Polio, Measles, Mumps, etc.; we are still here. To attend schools in the USA children must be vaccinate for decades now.
Totally incomparable.
We cannot afford things to get much worst than it now is. It veey easy to point fingers at the Govt, leaders and blame them for this problem of covid-19 recent spike .Nut would would be very unfair against them. Rather than blaming others? We should unite, and fight for the good of all.
When I looked at the fire works display in America last evening, I was happy because there were large crowds and the people celebrated their freedom from COVID-19. We in this territory are so hesitant to take the vaccine. The crowd in Time Square was larger than the population here. My people if we want to move this country forward, then we must be vaccinated.
It will protect the health service.
If people who are not vaccinated get Covid there is a very high risk of being hospitalised
We don’t have many ventilators
Let’s not be like India or Indonesia facing oxygen crisis
Let’s not lock down creating more mental health issues and poverty
We have to love with Covid like the rest of the world so please get vaccinated as soon as possible
