Clive McCoy appointed Director of Tourism
Since the controversial resignation of Mrs Sharon P. Flax-Brutus on May 15, 2020, Deputy Director Mr Rhodni A. Skelton has been performing the duties of director.
It is said Premier and Minister of Finance Honourable Andrew A. Fahie (R1) recently approved Mr McCoy for the post and has since given his blessings at the level of Cabinet.
'Right fit'
According to the Chairman of the Board, Mrs Kenisha A. Sprauve, “The Board is confident that Mr McCoy is the right fit for the role, Director of Tourism.”
She explained, “Based on his qualifications and leadership and business development experience in the tourism industry, Mr McCoy brings an unique perspective to this role of providing strategic leadership in the development and implementation of strategies and programmes that promote the BVI. The Board looks forward to him providing his expertise and experience to help the BVI’s tourism industry realise its fullest potential.”
'Humbled'
McCoy commented, “I am humbled by the opportunity to serve my Territory with tremendous focus and energy in this important position and recognising the immense potential and possibilities of our tourism industry.”
McCoy, who has been with the BVITB for some 14 years, has a Master of Science degree in E-Business Management; and Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Notre Dame de Namur University, Belmont, CA.
