Claude A. Kettle & Orlandette R. Crabbe confirmed to Education Ministry posts

ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI- Word reaching our News Centre is that Mr Claude A. Kettle and Mrs Orlandette R. Crabbe have been confirmed as Deputy Permanent Secretary and Chief Education Officer, respectively, in the Ministry of Education, Youth Affairs and Sports.

Both officers were confirmed last year, according to our sources in the Ministry of Education.

Claude A. Kettle

Mr Kettle is a former Financial Analyst with the Government of the Virgin Islands and also served as Director of Finance at the BVI Ports Authority.

Mr Kettle was appointed Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary in January 2023.

Orlandette R. Crabbe

Mrs Crabbe was appointed Deputy Chief Education Officer in September 2021 and took up the role of Acting Chief Education Officer in June 2024.

Prior to taking up her first post in the Ministry of Education, Mrs Crabbe served for a number of years as Principal of Joyce Samuel Primary School and previously taught at Althea Scatliffe Primary School where she also held the position of Assistant Principal.

Mrs Crabbe confirmed reports of her promotion to our News Centre. Mr Kettle; however, had not responded to our request for comment up to the time of publication.

Heida F. Joyles-Selwood

Meanwhile, Mrs Heida F. Joyles–Selwood has been confirmed to the post of Deputy Chief Education Officer.

She previously served as Education Officer of Co-Curricular Affairs.

Joyles-Selwood was an Assistant Principal at Bregado Flax Educational Centre Secondary Division.
