BAUGHERS BAY, Tortola, VI- On December 25, 2025, Long Bush came alive with the annual Long Bush Christmas Parade, held under the theme 'Rekindling a Tradition'.

The parade was led by Honourable Luce D. Hodge-Smith (R4), the District 4 Representative and Junior Minister for Culture and Tourism.

Event drew large crowds of spectators

This year, although there was a decline in the number of troupes, the event attracted a large crowd of spectators. The presence of the Pom Pom Girls, accompanied by a Grinch, added to the festive atmosphere.

The colours of Christmas and lively music were prominently featured throughout the parade, and the Euphoric Sky Dancers, also known as the Moko Jumbie stilt walkers, enhanced the overall experience.

There was also performances by Nouveau Royale Dance Group, EAPS, BVI Optimum Skydancers and Shooting Stars.

Live entertainment was provided by Intrusive Band, U.T.B, and Ova Drive, while mixing was done by Dj Fireblaze 1

Many spectators joined the fun by wearing their Christmas pajamas.

Return of Long Bush Christmas Parade

Virgin Islands News Online attempted to contact Honourable Luce D. Hodge-Smith for a comment on this year’s parade but was unsuccessful.

The highly anticipated parade began in 2007. However, a few challenges prevented the event from being held every year following its inaugural year.

It is under Hon Hodge-Smith that the event returned in 2023 after a 10-year hiatus.

And I'm sure someone there will get a performance bonus because of it.

Christmas is one of the last bonds of slavery that needs to be broken. You need to respect yourself and come out from under this mental slavery indoctrination period. Jesus and Santa Claus are religious and political myths based on money and power. Its just a matter of time before this mentality is relegated to the dustbin of history. Now unleash your venom because someone has pulled the cover off your doll house nonsense.

The whole thing was a disaster It started late ,the rout was too long for those small children , it never went through Long Bush.
I think that the organizers should contact the original organizers to get some ideas The poor vendors lost big time on this event Luce has to go.

If you had called me I would have told you to stay home and give the time to your family. Christmas in the BVI need a whole revamping, just like Carnival. We have lost sight of soooo much, its like we are grasping at straws.

It was a ghost event all the wayyy. A big old truck playing music. With only a handful of people there. It was a waste and a disrespectful event to Christ. Old people should know better the least. A former Miss bvi was there drinking drunk like she was paid to get on stupid. And this is what a torment Director of culture think is culture. Ridiculous oh and the poor children put in nasty costumes to perform to those type of musics. I feel disgusted and shameful and the parents should know better. All them children don’t deserve none of that mehson. Who am to judge that was satan work and not god. Ridiculous

I am glad to hear someone else talk about the type of music and dress these children perform to. Not mention at times the way they are dancing, bucking and tearing their little selves open in the road, and calling it dancing. We see the same nonsense at Festival time too. Parents of the BVI you all disgust me!!
