Sowing Seeds of Love & Compassion

Hello Virgin Islands, I am Marlon A. Penn, Representative for the Eighth Electoral District and Leader of Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition. I take this opportunity to wish all the visitors and residents of the Virgin Islands and their families a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2020.

Christmas is a time to reflect and be thankful for all our blessings throughout the year. Let us thank Almighty God for his mercies in protecting these Virgin Islands during this past Hurricane Season and let us remember in prayer, those who were less fortunate near and far.

Seeds are said to be Gods creation of wealth and blessings on the earth and when these seeds are sown many lives will be blessed.

As I reflect, I remember the community spirit displayed in 2017 when this Territory went through one of the most challenging times in recent history with the passage of hurricanes Irma and Maria. It was a joy to see the community spirit, love and compassion displayed by our people to help each other, during our greatest time of need.

This year’s theme is a timely reminder that we must sew seeds of Love and Compassion by helping our brothers and sisters in need.

As we prepare to usher in the New Year let us look ahead with enthusiasm and anticipation, to a bright and prosperous 2020 filled with great expectations!

I encourage you to embrace the journey into 2020 with vigor and purpose. Be motivated in everything you do! Set goals and achieve those goals! Let the failures of yesteryear be stepping stones to greatness in the New Year!

I take this opportunity to publicly thank my colleagues and all members of the

House of Assembly for your support throughout the year and I look forward to working with each of you in the New Year, as we continue to forge ahead with the rebuilding of our Territory - let us do so united in our resolve to strengthen our economy and secure the future of our Beloved Virgin Islands.

I also take this opportunity to personally express my sincere gratitude to the people of District 8 for instilling your trust and support in me as your Representative in the House of Assembly.

To all visitors and residents of these Virgin Islands, I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2020. I pray God’s love surrounds you and your families and this beloved Territory, and may every cup overflow with rich blessings this Christmas and always.

May you sew seeds of Love and Compassion and may the spirit of Christmas bring you peace, hope and warmth during this Holiday Season and Beyond!

Happy Holidays!
