CCT & Therapy Works support 1st District Job Expo
“It is with great pleasure that I thank CCT and Therapy Works for recently coming on board and employing youths that attended the 1st District Job Expo in late 2015 seeking employment. My efforts as 1st District representative in ensuring that all youth in the 1st District that are unemployed become employed is an ongoing effort,” Hon Fahie stated in a press release issued today, March 3, 2016.
The Opposition Member stated that so far of the 35 unemployed youth that attended the job expo or those that subsequently contacted him, twenty five of them have found employment through this ongoing effort in the First District.
“Again I would like to thank all participating businesses, thus far, our First District youths, their parents, my hard working committee, my family and my beloved people of the First District for their continued support and prayers in this initiative as well as overall.
Chief Executive Officer of CCT Global Communications, Mr Romney Everad Penn said: "CCT is very proud of our legacy of providing professional opportunities for enterprising young people in our community. We pride ourselves as a company of our community, by our community, for our community. We commend Honorable Andrew Fahie for organising a job fair to showcase the young talent in our community.”
‘Rising number of unemployed youth since elections’
Speaking during his Annual First District Report at the Capoon’s Bay Recreational Grounds on January 23, 2016 Hon Fahie said that since the June 8, 2015 elections it was brought to his attention that there was a rising number of First District Youths that were unemployed, hence the reason for the Job Expo and a Career Fair late last year.
“Twenty businesses and companies participated in this initiative. They made outstanding presentations and offered many job opportunities to our First District Youth that were unemployed. Since then, many more First District Youths that were unemployed but did not attend the event have signed on to this ongoing job employment initiative. This brought our total to thirty five,” Hon Fahie had said.
